It’s been almost a year since we mentioned a Kum & Go convenience store will take the place of the old Sugar Mountain Restaurant and Bill & Tony’s liquor store on the corner of Township Street and College Avenue in Fayetteville.

Well, the city’s Planning Commission unanimously approved the plan on Nov. 8, meaning a new prototype store should be open there sometime in the summer. A similar store, almost 5,000 SF, is set to open on Backus Avenue – across from AQ Chicken House – in Springdale in mid-December.
