Arsaga’s Store Set for Har-Ber
Jon and Andrea Allen plan to open an Arsaga’s Espresso Cafe in Springdale. The 1,850-SF store will be near Har-Ber Meadows subdivision, on U.S. Highway 412.
The Allens purchased two Fayetteville Arsaga’s Cafes, one at Gregg Street and one near the intersection of Crossover Road, about a year and a half ago from Carey and Cindy Arsaga. The Arsagas still operate kiosks at the Fayetteville Library and in Washington Regional Medical Center.
The four Arsaga’s Cafes combined did about $1 million in revenue for both 2008 and 2009, according to Fayetteville tax receipts.
Jon Allen said the Springdale location is the most natural next step in growing the business.
“We kind of just felt like Fayetteville was full,” Allen said. “Springdale seemed like an untapped market.”
The Springdale store will have a drive-thru window and seating for about 35 people, plus an area that can be partitioned off for groups, Allen said.
Along with an eclectic mix of beverages and pastries, the Arsaga’s stores added sandwiches to the menu in early summer. The sandwiches are prepared by Chef Miles James using fresh, locally grown ingredients. The sandwiches, which are typically grilled when ordered, sell for $7 to $8, Allen said. Salads start at $3.
“Har-Ber is a neat little community and I think it’ll be nice to have [the store] built in to it,” Allen said.
