Fayetteville residents Jared and Sarah Greer, who won a national contest awarding them their very own TCBY store in May, announced Oct. 13 that it would be located at the Promenade Pointe Shopping Center in Rogers.

Billed as a return to Northwest Arkansas for TCBY, the new store will employ about 15 mostly part-time associates. Valued at $315,000, a grand opening for the 1,800-SF store is scheduled for spring 2011.

“We wish it could be open tomorrow,” Jared Greer said. “We feel this is the best real estate space in Northwest Arkansas for our needs. It was worth waiting for.”

Founded in Little Rock in 1981, TCBY recently unveiled a new store concept centered on the increasingly popular self-serve model that will also serve as the format of its new Rogers location.

“We really feel the self-serve format allows customers to get exactly what they want,” Greer said. “They can pay as little or as much as they want.”

Just north of the Pinnacle Hills Promenade, the Promenade Pointe Shopping Center is being spearheaded by The Hunt Group, and will operate as a series of street-front retail buildings.

Tom Allen, director of real estate for The Hunt Group, served as his firm’s representative. Alan W. Cole of Colliers International in Bentonville represents TCBY in Northwest Arkansas.

Jared Greer said parties interested in seeing additional TCBY locations come to the area have already made contact. He and his wife hope to open several more stores throughout the area.

Promenade Point also will serve as home for a roughly 2,100-SF Qdoba Mexican Grill in the near future. Cole represents Qdoba in Northwest Arkansas. Randy Allen of Burrito Concepts LLC is the franchisee contact.
