Editor’s note: Between Oct. 13 and Oct. 27, The City Wire will present information from candidates in 15 key races in Crawford County, Sebastian County, Fort Smith and area legislative districts. A schedule of races presented will accompany this article and each article in the series.

Connie Beyerle (D) and Ronnie Dale (R) both seek the job of Crawford County Assessor now held by Dianna Faucher. Faucher retired from the post to run as a Democrat for Arkansas House District 66. Faucher is opposed in that race by Republican Gary Deffenbaugh.

Beyerle is now the chief deputy in the Crawford County Assessor’s office.

Dale is a military veteran and has been employed by Crawford and Sebastian counties — primarily as an appraiser — for 24 years.

CANDIDATE RESPONSE REQUEST
In 400 words or less, please explain your qualifications for the office you seek and what you would do to improve the office if elected.

• Connie Beyerle response:
Beyerle did not respond to The City Wire request for comment.

• Ronnie Dale response:
With 12 years of continuing education and field work, I have achieved the highest level of appraiser. I have experience in running an efficient assessors office.

As the chief appraiser for Sebastian County, I am the direct supervisor for the real estate department. I also fill in as the office spokesperson when the assessor is not available.

I have been part of the annual budgeting process and an integral part of the bidding and implantation  for the last two reappraisal plans. I have 24 years experience working for county government and am a certified level IV Appraiser and an active member of the Arkansas Assessors Association and the International Association of Assessing Officers.

IF elected Assessor, I will work with the current staff to provide fair and equitable assessments while striving to provide the best customer service possible.

I will continually search for the most efficient way to conduct business in our office. It is my goal to make the assessment process as pain free as possible while providing the taxpaying citizen with the respect they deserve.

I will have an open door policy to make myself readily available to the public.
