Young Actors Guild Fall Youth Theatre Classes Enrolling NOW!
The Young Actors Guild is excited to announce our debut season of theatre classes. Our theatre education mission is to foster a love of the arts as well as discover and strengthen your talents as a performer. We’re offering three classes to start off this season and if all goes well, we hope to add more in the spring. All classes will have a showcase performance for their families.

DANCE!
Dance classes run every Thursday from Sept. 2nd – November 4th 2010
STEP IT UP – Ages 8-13 from 4-5 pm
GET TO STEPPIN’- Ages 14-18 from 5-6 pm
Instructor: Beth Knox
Minimum class size is 5, max is 20
Let’s learn some fun moves to some old and new broadway tunes! Not only will you be shaking and moving but we’ll also focus on proper posture and placement and checking that our feet are doing the right thing!
It is essential to have all the basics along with the style!
Jazz or Ballet shoes preferred but comfy clothes are a must!
ACTING!
Acting classes run every Thursday, Sept. 2nd through November 11th (no class on October 7th)
ACT UP! – Ages 10-14 from 6-7 pm
Instructor: Gwen Sullivan
Minimum class size is 5, max is 15
Our acting class is aimed at building character on and offstage. We’ll focus on the tools you’ll use as an actor (body, voice, expression), utilzing theatre games and excercises to help strengthen these tools.

We have 2 terrific teachers that are heading up this semester:
Beth Knox is a seasoned performer as well as choreographer. You might know her from her work as a choreographer with the Youth Arts Coalition as well as other area organizations. She definitely knows dance and will help you to discover how to move your body while maintaining a strong focus on posture and placement.
Gwen Sullivan has a degree in musical theatre and has directed as well as performed. In this area, she has worked with the Goodtimes Theatre League in Poteau, OK a a director. She will be a fun teacher who will help you stretch your imagination!
