Almost half (48 percent) of IT decision makers throughout the private and public sectors anticipate increased IT budgets within the next six months, an increase of 10 percentage points from the same time last year, according to the latest findings of CDW IT Monitor.

Thirty-seven percent of IT decision makers at large companies anticipate hiring extra IT staff in 2010’s second half, an 11 percent boost since June 2009. Slightly less enthusiastic figures also reflect the opinion of top IT staff inside the federal government.

Additionally, a sizeable majority of IT decision makers anticipate making more investments via installing or replacing hardware (68 percent) and software (74 percent) later this year.

Launched in December 2007, the CDW IT Monitor is a bimonthly indicator of the direction and momentum of America’s IT marketplace.
