Women are the Secret to Wal-Mart’s Success
The guys in expensive suits threw out lots of numbers at Wal-Mart Stores Inc.‘s recent shareholders meeting, and, frankly, a lot of them seem aimed more at MBA-types than Average Joes.
A couple of numbers given by executive vice president Susan Chambers, however, really hit home with the Average Joe. Or maybe that should be Average Jane.
Chambers said not only are more than 80 percent of Wal-Mart’s customers women, but that the retailing giant employs about 1.2 million women worldwide. To that, we say: You go, girl(s).
