Local pilot, author and student of history, Doug Kelley, will talk about the art and mystery of flight from the Wright Brothers first fragile successes through the development of aviation as an everyday tool – and fact – of life.  He will speak of nuts and bolts and numbers, but with a constant eye cast toward the near magic of how commonplace it has become to go aloft in a machine.  The presentation, in conjunction with the museum’s latest exhibit, The Fort in Flight:  Bud Mars and the City’s Aviation History, will be on Saturday, July 24, 2010, 1:00 p. m.

Fort Smith Museum of History, 320 Rogers Avenue, 783-7841.
