Area Simulcast Hits Home Run
The local edition of the Chick-fil-A Leadercast – a one-day leadership conference described as being “all about helping bring Northwest Arkansas leaders together for leadership, networking, and inspiration” – took place May 7 in Rogers.
Hosted by WorkMatters, a local nonprofit organization, the all-day leadership conference was held at The Church at Pinnacle Hills for the second consecutive year.
Sam Bates, vice president of WorkMatters, described it as an “opportunity for development at a very reasonable price.”
More than 1,500 tickets were sold to the conference at prices averaging $75 per ticket, although discounts were available for early birds and groups.
Theresa Roth, market coordinator at WorkMatters, said the turnout shows that “companies are happy to keep their employees motivated.”
For Fayetteville-based WorkMatters, the event (which church staff and about 40 volunteers assisted with) serves as the group’s key fundraiser for the year. Bates said proceeds from the gathering would advance its mission of bridging “the gap between faith and work. Everybody, regardless of their faith, should do their job with excellence.”
A roster of 10 speakers included Delta Air Lines president Ed Bastian and former NFL coach Tony Dungy. They attended via a live simulcast broadcast from Atlanta and seen by thousands across the country. The Rogers location was reportedly the biggest site among hundreds across North America for the second straight year.
