Sebastian County Bar Association to Host Arkansas Insurance Dept. – Effects of New Federal Healthcare Legislation in Arkansas

The Sebastian County Bar Association will host the Arkansas Insurance Department on Monday, April 19, 2010, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Holiday Inn City Center located at 700 Rogers Avenue, Fort Smith, Arkansas, 72902.  The presentation will be given on behalf of Arkansas Insurance Department Commissioner Jay Bradford by Mr. Dan Honey, Deputy Commissioner for the Life and Health Insurance Division, and Mr. William R. Lacy, who recently resumed his duties as Manager of the Property Casualty Division following his recent service as Interim Deputy Commissioner and General Counsel for the Legal Division of the Arkansas Insurance Department. 

The topic of this public presentation will be the required changes in Arkansas insurance law, the implementation thereof, and how those changes will affect Arkansans, as a direct result of the high-profile and heavily debated federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act that was recently signed into law by President Barack O’Bama on Tuesday, March 23, 2010.  

This presentation will be open to the public and anyone who has an interest in learning more about the Arkansas Insurance Department, as well as, the recently enacted federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and the impact it will have on Arkansans and insurance law in the State of Arkansas, is invited to attend.
