Pyle seeks Crawford County Treasurer post; Beebe formally files
Rep, Beverly Pyle, R-Cedarville, has decided to seek the office of Crawford County Treasurer. Pyle is term limited in the Arkansas House District 83 seat. Pyle filed for the Treasurer post Friday (Mar. 5).
“I’m not ready to retire. I want to continue to serve Crawford County and the community,” Pyle told The City Wire.
Pyle, who has also served as the Cedarville mayor, said she was encouraged by many to seek the post and believes she will have no problem running the office.
Tom Fite, a Republican from Van Buren, and Leslee Milam Post, a Democrat from Ozark, have filed for the District 83 seat.
Also, Friday was your day to be disappointed if you thought there was some crazy chance Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe would not file for re-election. He filed Friday. Beebe, a Democrat who has maintained unprecedented popularity numbers — often above 75% approval rating — is not expected to have a primary challenger but will face Republican Jim Keet in the general election.
The filing period began Monday (Mar. 1) for federal, state and legislative seats. Following are the names of those who filed in the races monitored by The City Wire. The filing period ends at Noon, Mar. 8. The City Wire will post candidate filings at the end of each day.
Following are filings for the first five days. Those that filed Friday are in bold.
