The winners of PRWeek magazine’s annual awards were announced on March 11, and we’re sorry to say a couple of local nominees were left empty-handed.

Walmart’s Earth Day Every Day Campaign was one of five finalists in the “Cause-Related Campaign of the Year” category, and Fayetteville’s Mitchell Communications Group was one of five finalists for “Boutique Agency of the Year.” Yum! Brands, the parent of KFC and Pizza Hut among others, won the cause-related award, while Catalyst Public Relations, which has offices in New York City, Los Angeles and Charlotte, N.C., took the boutique honor.

Regardless, we applaud the local nominees for jobs well done.
