Walton Foundation Makes DU Donation

The Walton Family Foundation is helping protect one of Ducks Unlimited’s highest-priority landscapes with a grant of nearly $200,000.
DU has identified more than two million acres of flooded bottomland hardwood forest and wetlands in Mississippi and Louisiana that need to be protected in perpetuity. Only partnerships with landowners and organizations like the Walton Family Foundation can make that a realistic goal, according to a DU-issued report.
The Walton Family Foundation’s gift of $188,075 will protect parts of the Mississippi River and the Mississippi Alluvial Valley. DU also considers the gift an investment in the waterfowl of North America and support for communities throughout the Delta region.
