It seems Bo Derek, the woman who almost single-handedly made beach-jogging an Olympic event via her performance in the 1979 movie “10,” will serve as the Grand Marshal at The World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Hot Springs. The seventh annual event will be held March 17 at 5 p.m. on Hot Springs’ Bridge Street, which measures 98 feet and reportedly was named The Shortest Street in the World by Ripley’s Believe It or Not in the 1940s.

Alas, Guinness World Records apparently now recognizes Ebenezer Place (6 feet, 9 inches) in Wick, Caithness, Scotland, as the world’s shortest street. Regardless, the parade in Hot Springs sounds like a hoot, as former Grand Marshals like “Norm” and “Cliff” from “Cheers,” Pauly Shore and Mario Lopez surely can attest.

As for Ms. Derek, no word was available on whether she will be sporting those memorable braids or even more familiar flesh-colored swimsuit.
