Graduating seniors from the College of Business at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith have scored in the top 25% in the nation on a standardized test given to approximately 250,000 business students at 500 institutions, according to a UAFS statement.

UAFS students have placed in the top 25% or better every year since 2005 — the first year for UAFS to offer baccalaureate degree programs in business — on the major field test in business administered by ETS (Educational Testing Service). The business field test is taken by UAFS seniors enrolled in Strategic Management, the capstone course required of all business students during the final year before graduation.

"This test is designed to measure student knowledge of business and the ability to apply significant concepts, theories and analytical methods to practical business problems," said Dr. Steve Williams, dean of the College of Business, who believes the test is an important indicator of the quality of the education that students receive at UAFS.
