Nail to Receive Special Recognition

Details are sketchy, and it’s kind of a no-brainer, but we hear Mike Nail will be honored with some type of ceremony during halftime of his last broadcast at Walton Arena.

Nail is hanging up his headset at the end of this basketball season, his 29th as the University of Arkansas’ play-by-play man. Arkansas’ regular-season home finale is March 6 against Ole Miss.

By our count, Nail has called close to 1,000 Razorback games during his career, but it seems a safe bet most Hog fans probably remember six of his words more than any of the rest.

“Arkansas has completed the dream season!” Nail exclaimed when Arkansas beat Duke to win the 1994 national championship.
