Uniontown Grocery sold a winning Powerball ticket for the Jan. 20 draw with a prize value of $1 million, according to a statement from the Arkansas Lottery Commission (ASL).

Owners of the Uniontown Grocery are eligible for a $50,000 commission is the winner of the ticket comes forward.

The person who purchased the ticket did not win the $53.4 million jackpot, but did buy a ticket that qualified him or her for the “Match 5” $1 million prize. The ASL also announced that two other winning tickets were sold, for prizes with a value of $40,000 in Pine Bluff, and $10,000 in Van Buren. Altogether, the ASL sold 9,882 winning tickets for Wednesday night’s draw.

“One lucky Arkansas Scholarship Lottery player came real close to hitting the Powerball jackpot again,” said Ernie Passailaigue, Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Executive Director.  “Even though the player missed on the Powerball number, the winning ticket still is worth one million dollars, because the player selected the Powerplay option. In fact, over forty-two percent of our players choose the Powerplay multiplier.”
