Students in the practical nursing class ending May 2009 at Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus’ achieved a pass rate of 100% on the National Council Licensure Examination-Practical Nursing.

In order to become certified as a practical or vocational nurse, individuals must pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses. This exam has been developed by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing to ensure that standards for professional practice are the same in every jurisdiction.

“We feel that the information gained through assessing our program and students, coupled with the reconstruction of some phases of the course, have allowed the students to achieve their goal of a 100% pass rate,” said Janet Mickens, Practical Nursing Program chair.
