Retreat: Thomas Merton on Lent

St. Scholastica Retreat Center, 1205 S. Albert Pike, will present John King, a Merton Scholar, who will focus on Thomas Merton’s method of Lenten prayer, including journaling as a means of focusing one’s prayer and conversion during Lent. King is a retired professor of social work and religious studies at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, a Merton Scholar and author, and has written on Merton’s contributions to peace, contemplation and prayer. Cost is $150 with a $35 deposit, which includes 2 nights’ accommodations, 5 meals, and all presentations and materials.
