Two University of Arkansas at Fort Smith student-athletes have been named this week’s Heartland Conference Academic Student-Athletes of the Week.

Jena Morrow, a junior golfer from Fort Gibson, Okla., and Evan Piche, a junior tennis player from Houston, Texas, earned the weekly honor, becoming the 10th and 11th UAFS student-athletes to earn the award.

Morrow has compiled a 3.77 grade-point average while majoring in business administration. She helped lead the Lady Lions to a second-place finish in the Show Me Summer Shootout and a fourth-place finish in the Harding Bison Classic earlier this fall.

Piche has compiled a 3.15 grade-point average while majoring in business administration. He advanced to the semifinals of doubles play in the Collin County Community College Fall Open and was 4-2 in singles play and 4-4 in doubles play during the Lions’ fall matches.

UAFS student-athletes have accounted for 11 of the 15 academic student-athlete award winners this semester.
