Perfect Pitch?
We’re not sure any Arkansan can match Kris Allen, he of “American Idol” fame, when it comes to reality TV stardom, but a native of Alma apparently will get his shot on a smaller stage in the spring.
Todd Richmond, who now resides near Muldrow, Okla., will appear on the second season of “Pitchmen,” we’re told by someone in the know. Richmond recently wrapped up taping for the series in Tampa, Fla., after being selected from an original field of more than 200 applicants.
All of the applicants are inventors and the aim of the competition is to have their products pitched by television ad men Anthony Sullivan and Billy Mays III. Last year’s run of shows featured the late Billy Mays and developers opted to continue with plans for a second season, using his son as a replacement, as a tribute.
According to the Discovery Channel’s Web site, a premiere date for the second season hasn’t been set. We’re told it will be in May.
Richmond’s invention is a product called Dig DeFence. Best we can tell, the product consists of underpinnings made of galvanized steel and featuring eight-inch rods attached at four-inch intervals.
The product is designed so that it can be attached to practically any kind of fence at ground-level. The idea is the underpinning keeps pets from digging underneath fences, while also preventing outside pests from entering the fenced-in area.
