If you find there’s too much clutter in your house – and who hasn’t felt that way? – or have grown tired of the décor or arrangement of your living space – and who hasn’t? – Ruth Hirsch wants to help.

Hirsch, who worked in the real estate industry and as an executive assistant in California before moving to Arkansas two years ago, recently went full-bore with an endeavor she had been tinkering with almost since her arrival. Hirsch, aka The Cottage Keeper, will clean, organize, or otherwise spruce up in any way possible, your home or business.

“I’m like a household assistant,” said Hirsch, whose only real start-up costs were a sales tax license and fees for a Web site she constructed.

While cleaning, organizing and decorating seem to be Hirsch’s main areas of emphasis, she offers a wide range of services that includes haul-away service, errand-running and general handy man-type services. If Hirsch can’t do the job herself, she employs a network of contractors.

“They have to do good work and get it done right, or they don’t get called back,” Hirsch said with a laugh. “So far that hasn’t been a problem. This thing has really taken off.”

Hirsch gives free estimates on individual projects, and charges $20 to $30 an hour for regularly scheduled visits.
