The University of Arkansas at Fort Smith has scheduled an event Nov. 19 for adults who want to know how to return to college to finish their degrees or how to begin college for the first time.

A College Preview will be held at 6 p.m., Nov. 19 in the Weidman Center, room 133 of the Pendergraft Health Sciences Center. The preview will offer step-by-step information and provide numerous resources, according to Lori Oliver-May, coordinator of the Office of Non-Traditional Student Support.

"The event remains dedicated to attracting older individuals who have never attended college, as well as those who may have attended at some point and would like to complete a degree," Oliver-May said.

Oliver-May, who joined the UAFS staff in 2004, is also adviser of the student organization, Non-Traditional Students, which is designed to offer peer support and support for family members of non-traditional students, as well as leadership opportunities.

Officers for the group this year are Tim Arnoldussen of Fort Smith, president; Jerry Arbaugh of Hartman, vice president and Senate representative; Sarah Van Hook of Fort Smith, secretary; Claudia Rucchio of Barling, treasurer; Cheryl Chapman of Van Buren, public relations; and Jessica Van Nostrand of Van Buren, activities.
