Having trouble finding that black leotard for your favorite dance student?
r
Well, there’s good news at Dance and More Store, the recently opened retail space that offers apparel and accessories for practically any discipline of dance. Owners Matt and Kat Barlow have dedicated a significant part of their 1,200-SF display area to black leotards.
r
“We’ve heard from so many parents that black leotards are hard to find, so we decided to dedicate a whole wall to them,” said Kat Barlow, 23.
r
In addition to black leotards, there are shoe and apparel offerings ranging from ballet to belly dancing and tap to hip-hop. The Barlows said they currently have about $50,000 invested in inventory.
r
Popular brands available include Bloch, Wear Moi, Mirella, So Danca, GK Elite and Soffe. Kat Barlow also expects Capezio products to be available next month.
r
Shoes for all types of dance range in price from $16 to $70 at Dance and More Store, which Barlow said fills a need in Northwest Arkansas.
r
“The market just really needed another outlet,” she said.
r
Barlow also said all of Dance and More Store’s prices include sales tax.
r
Dance and More Store is expecting to have a Web store up and running in November, said Matt Barlow, who is 24 and pursuing a Ph. D. in electrical engineering.

One trip to Sugarbear’s, the “pampered pets boutique and bakery,” makes it clear the Davises aren’t afraid to spoil the kids. From bakery-produced treats to high-fashion collars and a wide array of apparel, Sugarbear’s has the market cornered when it comes to canine commerce.
r
The treats, $3.25 each, are the first things customers will see when entering the store, and if they look tasty enough for human consumption, well, they just might be.
r
The treats are made from human-grade ingredients and are corn- and wheat-free so as to avoid potential allergy problems.
r
From there, customers can pick from an enormous array of products. Among them are the snazzy collars that range from $12 to $30, a primo selection of dog toys, as well as food and grooming products.
r
There’s also complimentary Starbucks coffee available for shoppers who walk on two legs, as well as a fun collection of caps and T-shirts designed for pet owners. More fun stuff like Frisbees can be found, too, along with pet carriers and even some pet-themed decorative items.
