Two Northwest Arkansas companies have developed applications for the iPhone.

r

Peephole, an iPhone application from IFWorld Inc., of Fayetteville, allows Twitter users to browse online photos posted via Twitter photo sharing services Twitpic, yfrog and Twitgoo, all in one place.

r

Scott Mills, Peephole developer and IFWorld co-founder, said the idea came about during the Iranian elections.

r

“A lot of people were uploading photos to Twitter to show what was going on,” he said. “But it would take several steps to look at each photo one by one.

r

“We thought it would be nice if on the iPhone, you could see a trending topic, click on it, and see all of the photos of what’s going on.”

r

With Peephole, users can view images attached to trending topics as well as images in the public timeline. They can also view images from nearby users and friends, using the iPhone’s GPS feature.

r

Images can be viewed on a full-screen, as thumbnails, or in slideshow mode.

r

The application is $1.99 in the iTunes App Store and is available for both the iPhone and iPod Touch.

r

In the week since the application was released, Mills said it has been downloaded about 500 times and used in 30 different countries.

r

Rockfish Interactive in Rogers also created an iPhone app for use by the company and its clients.

r

Rockfish 411 provides a full corporate directory with email, cell phones and work numbers, including after hours support contacts. The application is only available for customers.
