Most Arkansans get news from television, Web sites

Cable television news channels, local television news and Web sites are the top three places most Arkansans get their news, according to survey results released by TalkBusiness.net.
The new poll was conducted through a partnership with Roby Brock, and Little Rock-based political consulting groups The Political Firm and The Markham Group. Brock and his TalkBusiness.net is a content partner with The City Wire.
The pollsters asked 600 Arkansans: Which of the following sources would you say you rely on most often, on a regular basis, for your information about business, politics, and other important issues? The results:
Cable TV News Channels: 31%
TV News: 22%
Internet Web Sites: 11%
Local Newspapers: 10%
Radio News: 3%
Talk Radio: 3%
Magazines: 1%
Other: 5%
None/Unsure: 2%
Combination/All: 12%
“In a world of increasing static, news is becoming more targeted, more fragmented, and more interwoven all at the same time. Traditional media outlets are adapting, but new media sources are on the rise,” Brock noted in his release of the survey results.

Brock recently released survey results showing that 28% of Arkansans had a “strongly favorable” opinion of the new Arkansas lottery program, but 32% had a “strongly unfavorable” opinion.
