Hale named dean of UAFS College of Applied Science and Technology
Dr. Georgia Hale of Fort Smith will assume July 1 role of dean of the College of Applied Science and Technology at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith.
Hale, currently associate dean of the College of Business, earned a doctorate from Arizona State University and undergraduate and graduate degrees from Arkansas State University, according to a statement from the university. Hale arrived at UAFS in 2004 after working as the assistant dean of student services at Iowa State University.
Hale will succeed Pat Widders in the post. Widders served as dean for three years and previously served as director of the Western Arkansas Technical Center, located on the UAFS campus. Widders has been offered a new administrative role at the university, according to the UAFS statement.
