ATU-Ozark instructor heads to South Africa

Ester Leonard, practical nursing instructor at Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus  will join collegiate scholars from across the United States and abroad to take part the International Scholar Laureate Program (ISLP) Delegation on Nursing. The program provides high-achieving students the opportunity to take part in a learning experience designed to inform and enrich their career objectives and foster their ambition to achieve their lifelong goals in a way unlike any other, according to a statement from ATU-Ozark.

Leonard will visit the Republic of South Africa on a 13-day journey where she and 84 participants will go behind the scenes at hospitals and clinics to get an up-close look at the challenges facing South Africa as it tries to control the tragic consequences of HIV/AIDS and its impact on these cities and others throughout South Africa.
