National Home Centers Sues Homebuilder Nickell

National Home Centers Inc. of Springdale is suing bankrupt homebuilder Aaron Nickell and his wife Tammi Lynn Nickell.

In a complaint filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Arkansas in early April, NHC is seeking more than $2 million.

According to the complaint, in November 2006, Nickell negotiated extension of credit on the principal of $2.09 million owed to NHC and promised to pay the company 100 percent of the net proceeds from the sale of properties owned by Nickell. In turn, NHC agreed to not file materialman’s liens, which might hinder the sale of many properties.

Nickell filed for bankruptcy in November 2007.

National Home Centers was ranked as the No. 10 largest private company in Northwest Arkansas by the Business Journal with 2007 revenue of $191.2 million.
