Long-time lobbyist talks legislative history
Bob Lamb, long-time leader of the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce and now a lobbyist for several organizations, just wrapped up working his 27th legislative session.
Lamb recently sat down with Roby Brock — owner of TalkBusiness.net, a content partner with The City Wire — and talked about his more than 30-years of memories of working with state lawmakers.
In this 60-second video clip, Lamb talked about the 1955 legislative session during which Gov. Orval Faubus pushed for the creation of the Arkansas Industrial Development Commission — now the Arkansas Economic Development Commission. Lamb credited Faubus for the “foresight” to get Arkansas’ industrial recruitment effort formalized and for getting Winthrop Rockefeller to chair the newly-created AIDC.
