Union Christian Academy announced May 15 that Kemp Holden, pastor of Harvest Time Church in Fort Smith, will be the school’s new executive director.

Holden helped open Harvest Time Christian School in 1982, which in 2004 merged with River Valley Christian School and Fort Smith Christian School to become Union Christian Academy.

Holden plans to work with other pastors and church leaders in the region interested in the future of christian education in the area.

Steve Clark, president of the UCA board, also announced the school has raised almost $3 million in funding from the region. The funding represents a “grass roots commitment and is coming from a wide range of people and businesses from our region,” noted the UCA statement.
