Dave Robertson is the new director of the Family Enterprise Center located in the College of Business at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith.

Robertson, who begins work April 20, worked at Baldor Electric Co. since 2006, and has worked as a financial controller at Arkansas Poly (Van Buren), Wortz Co. (Poteau) and Thompson Industries (Russellville).

“The search committee felt strongly that Dave has an excellent reputation and relationship with many current Family Enterprise Center members, and he has the ability to work with all stakeholders,” Steve Williams, dean of the College of Business, noted in a statement. “His willingness to serve family-owned enterprises in the area will provide the right kind of leadership to advance the College, the University and the Fort Smith community.”

Robertson earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Northeastern State University, and he received his masters in business administration from Webster University in 2008.

The UAFS Family Enterprise Center “acts as a regional catalyst for the family in business, serving as a bridge between UA Fort Smith and the business community,” according to the UAFS statement.

Robertson replaces Kermit Kuehn, who was the part-time director. Kuehn transitioned to full-time teaching responsibilities as professor of management.
