The Alma Spinach Festival offered a little bit of something for everyone, but mostly a lot of fun for the kids

The festival entered in its second day on Saturday. With a threat of rain and even a mist coming down, the spirits of the festival attendees were still high. The festival featured a carnival, food, live music by local talent, booths, pageants, quilt show and a book sale.

Sponsored by Alma Area Chamber of Commerce, the festival has been around for 23 years.

“The money made at the festival goes into general funds,” said Marla Keader, events committee member. “The money will help to put the festival on next year. Last night, there were about 2,500 people at the Ricochet concert. And tonight New rascals will play at Alma Performing Arts Center.”

New to the event this year was the 1st Annual Spinach Festival Queen Pageant for ladies ages 16 to 20.

The festival will continue until 10 p.m.  tonight (Saturday, April 18)
