What do you get when you mix a bright, sunny day with bounce-arounds, music, balloons, face painting, photos, refreshments PLUS eggs?

It’s the Mayor’s Easter Egg Hunt at Tilles Park in Fort Smith, sponsored by The Pilot Club and Grand Avenue Baptist Church. Hundreds of children and their parents flocked to the park Saturday morning to join the fun.

“The Hunt is On” was divided into groups for children pre-K to one year old; 4 to 7. and 8 years and up. Thirty children at a time were allowed to hunt in the 4 to 7 and 8 years and up group and limited to a dozen eggs each. The little ones were helped individually by volunteers.

The Easter Bunny was available for photos and the only tears seen at the event were of some of the younger children a little afraid of that big, white bunny. ALI Cat, the mascot for 9-1-1 made an appearance and was seen posing with children and adults for photos. ALI Cat educates citizens on 9-1-1 and gives valuable safety tips to keep families and homes safe.
