Forty Under 40: Jason Kincy

Jason Kincy, 36, has a simple philosophy: “Be honest and upfront, and everything else will fall in line.”

It’s easy to believe Kincy lives by that rule after he summed up his career with a splash of self-deprecation.

“Everything that I’ve done, I’ve not known anything about,” he said with a laugh.
Kincy began his career at the Bank of Bentonville in 1996 after initially turning down an offer to become its marketing director. Not sure he was qualified, Kincy was coaxed into taking the job by his wife and the bank’s sales manager.

Duties included developing a budget for a marketing plan, executing that plan, and dealing with various civic groups.

“I think the key, from that very first day, is that I’ve been challenged, but allowed by the company to figure out those challenges,” Kincy said.

The bank’s charter was collapsed into Arvest in 2002 and Kincy eventually became the head of its corporate marketing team.

Since then, he’s been building the Arvest brand and helping internal teams develop and market innovative products and services like spending cards and mobile banking. He now spearheads the bank’s “e-marketing” efforts, but he’s quick to point out he’s always been supported by quality teammates.

“I’ve been at Arvest long enough that I can’t envision working for any other financial institution,” he said.
