Committee assignments set for regional legislative delegation (updated!)

Committee assignments are now set among members of the Arkansas Senate and the Arkansas House of Representatives. In the next few weeks, new and returning legislators will begin preparations for the 87th General Assembly scheduled to convene Jan. 12.

In the Arkansas Senate, the Fort Smith region is well represented in the important Judiciary Committee, with Sen. Ed Wilkinson, D-Greenwood, serving as the chairman, and Sen. Ruth Whitaker, R-Cedarville, serving as the vice-chair.
