Beware of the Man Caves
According to Maryland-based Bill Me Later Inc., there are about 11 million “Man Caves” in the United States.
A Man Cave describes a room, that includes large screen televisions, surround sound, gaming consoles, sports memorabilia, mini refrigerators and other items that have been banned from main living areas of the home by wives and girlfriends.
Other Man Cave notables, according to Bill Me Later, are:
Nearly half of all Man Cave dwellers spend more than 11 hours a week in their Man Cave with 24 percent of respondents (equaling 2.4 million Americans) spending more than 20 hours a week in their Man Cave.
While watching sports is the most popular Man Cave activity, 15 percent of Man Cave dwellers also use it to hide from their spouses and responsibilities.
More than 10 percent of respondents with Man Caves have spent more than $10,000 furnishing their Man Caves with everything from flat screen plasma TVs to pool tables.
