AOG agrees to lower proposed fees
Fort Smith-based Arkansas Oklahoma Gas Corp. (AOG) has volunteered to reduce some of its proposed charges for connecting, reconnecting and what are called “special meter reads.”
AOG provides natural gas to about 62,000 in western Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma.
On Oct. 22, AOG proposed a few increases and other changes to the pricing and policy structure. The staff of the Arkansas Public Service Commission recommended a few “revisions” to the AOG filing.
The changes AOG has agreed to include:
• A $50 fee — lowered from $55 — for a connection fee requested outside business hours.
• A $30 fee — lowered from $55 — for a reconnection requested at the same location within 12 months and during normal business hours.
• A $50 fee — lowered from $80 — for a reconnection during normal business hours.
This is the second rate reduction news for AOG customers. The company reported in late October that its winter cost for natural gas would be about 75.5 cents per CCF (hundred cubic feet), down from the 79.64 cents per CCF in the previous winter cycle. Customers using 100 ccf per month can expect a bill of about $119. In the previous winter, the bill would have been about $123.
