Attorney Rating Site Expands to Arkansas

Avvo.com, a Web site that rates and profiles lawyers for consumers and small businesses, has expanded its coverage to include every attorney in Arkansas.

The site aims to help small business owners avoid legal mistakes by providing more information and better guidance about lawyers and legal issues.

According to Mark Britton, Avvo CEO and a lawyer who previously served as general counsel at Expedia.com, “consumers are increasingly using the Internet and its new user-friendly technologies to inform their decisions about which lawyer to hire, and this trend is quickly impacting the legal marketplace.”

Avvo rates lawyers according to their practices areas, work experience, industry recognition and disciplinary sanctions.

The site also provides client reviews submitted by consumers and peer reviews submitted by lawyers. In addition, the site provides a question and answer forum where lawyers can respond to legal questions with a personalized answer.
