Highlands Oncology Group Buys NARTI Building in Merger (Real Deals)

The doctors of the Highlands Oncology Group purchased two of Northwest Arkansas Radiation Therapy Institute’s facilities through their Quark LLC on June 13 for $7.8 million.

The NARTI building at 60 Monte Painter Dr. in Fayetteville’s North Hills Medical development and the NARTI location at 1200 Eagle Way in Bentonville were part of the acquistion.

The purchase includes both the 7,262-SF facility and the radiation therapy equipment, and is part of a merger between Ozark Radiation Oncology Group and Highlands Oncology. It is designed to provide comprehensive cancer treatment campuses in Washington and Benton counties.

Doctors of Ozark Radiation Oncology and Highlands Oncology will use NARTI’s Bentonville facilities while a new 55,000-SF Benton County location is constructed on south 52nd Street in Rogers. The new location is expected to open in December 2009.

Once the new location is completed NARTI’s Bentonville facilities will be sold to NorthWest Arkansas Community College.

Physicians of both Ozark Radiation and Highland Oncolcogy will utilize the new spaces and will operate as the Highlands Oncology Group.

The merger creates a nine-physician cancer treatment team.

NARTI will continue to operate out of its administrative offices at 5835 W. Sunset Ave. in Springdale. The organization will continue to offer patient transportation and navigator programs and preventative education and screenings.

Baldwin & Shell Completing Washington Regional Space

Baldwin & Shell Construction Co. purchased two building permits for a total of $6.85 million from the city of Springdale for construction of Washington Regional Medical Center’s new Springdale location.

The 30,000-SF, two-story facility will service patients in the Springdale and Tontitown areas.

Bates & Associates Inc. is the engineering firm for the project.

The new location will include a women’s center, a family medical care center, an outpatient imaging center and other various specialties.

The medical office sits on 2.75 acres, which is owned by the Washington Regional Medical Foundation.

Bank of America NA issued Washington Regional a $5.2 million mortgage for the property.

AT&T Adds Sunset Store, Warehouse

Henry Kelly purchased a $3.46 million building permit from the city of Springdale for the construction of a new AT&T retail center and adjoining warehouse at 4489 W. Sunset Blvd. in Springdale, next to the Sizzler Steakhouse.

The facility will be about 6,000 SF.

Henry Kelly is listed as the owner of the project.

HP Engineering Inc. is the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering firm for the project.

Miller Boskus Lack Architects PA is the architectural firm for the project.

Boyd-Corley Construction is the general contractor for the project.

Flake & Kelley Commercial handled the land transaction.

Sansone Group Adds Springdale Walgreens

Sansone Group of St. Louis has started construction on a new Walgreens on the northwest corner of Robinson Avenue and Butterfield Coach Road in east Springdale. The group purchased a $1.4 million building permit from the city of Springdale for construction.

The 14,500-SF retail drug store will be single story and will have a pharmacy drive-thru.

The Walgreens will replace the E-Z Mart that was previously located on that corner.

H.B.D. Construction Inc. is the general contractor for the project.

Sansone Group purchased three parcels of land for a total of 2 acres through its Sansone Robinson Butterfield Coach LLC on June 3 for a total of $1.6 million. One parcel was purchased from Jey Investments Ltd and a second parcel was purchased from Carl Elry Stults, trustee of the Carl Elry Stults Living Trust, and Deloris Gayle Stults, trustee of the Deloris Gayle Stults Living Trust. The third parcel was purchased from Alvin Martin and Jane Patrick-Martin and Charles and Jane Bilbe. The Martins and Bilbes each had a 50 percent ownership in the parcel.

New Offensive Coach Settles in Candlewood

Paul and Maya Petrino purchased a home at 2616 N. Candlewood Dr. in Fayetteville’s Candlewood subdivision for $690,000 on June 11.

The Petrinos purchased the 4,440-SF, two-story home from Relocation Advantage LLC. Edward and Jill Hicks were the home’s previous owners.

The home was built in 2003 and underwent renovations in 2006.

It appraised for $616,300 in 2007.

Paul Petrino is the brother of University of Arkansas’s new head football coach Bobby Petrino.

Paul Petrino is the offensive coordinator for the Razorback football team. He was the receivers’ coach for the Atlanta Falcons during his older brother’s 13-game stint as the Falcons head coach.
