Ecclesia College Ranks High on National Survey
Ecclesia College might not have the name recognition of the University of Arkansas or John Brown University, but the small Christian college in Springdale recently passed those peers in several categories measuring student involvement.
The National Survey of Student Engagement is a collection of data measuring how involved a school’s students are in various personal development activities offered on campus.
Survey results “provide an estimate of how undergraduates spend their time and what they gain from attending college,” according to the NSSE Web site.
Students at Ecclesia were more involved in culminating senior events, study abroad programs and learning communities than students at other colleges in the region.
About 38 percent of Ecclesia students had participated in study abroad, compared to 16 percent at the UA and JBU, according to a press release.
A higher percentage of students at Ecclesia (88 percent) participated in culminating senior events than at other colleges in the area (about 42 percent), according to the release.
