Terminella Calls MNB Board ?Inbred?

We’ve been keeping you updated on the contentious lawsuit by developer Tom Terminella against Metropolitan National Bank of Little Rock over its decision last May to foreclose on two loans totaling more than $14 million.

The fight over who gets deposed and when — and the strongly worded motions filed on both sides — has provided plenty of fodder, and an April 21 response by Terminella’s attorneys was no different.

MNB is attempting to quash the subpoenas to depose bank president Doyle Rogers Sr., his son Doyle Rogers Jr. and daughter Barbara Hoover. Rogers Jr. and Hoover are both members of the bank’s board of directors.

In the case of Rogers Sr., MNB has classified Terminella’s efforts to depose him as harassment while also citing his age, health and lack of knowledge about the Terminella loans.

Terminella’s side isn’t buying it, and this line from an April 21 response shows this civil case left civility behind long ago:

“Considering the structure of ownership of the bank, and the inbred nature of the board of directors, it is imperative that the man who calls the shots at this bank, and his children, be deposed.”
