Cargill Plant Adds Employees

Wichita, Kans.-based Cargill Meat Solutions will be bringing about 150 new jobs to its Springdale poultry-processing plant.

On March 31, Cargill, through its value added meat division, acquired assets of Willow Brook Foods.

Part of the transaction included ownership of two of Willow Brook’s Springfield, Mo. poultry plants.

Cargill announced that it would cease operations at the two Springfield plants and transfer jobs to Cargill’s California, Missouri and Springdale plants.

Cargill’s Springdale plant employs about 1,100 people and processes turkey cuts and whole turkeys.
