Greg Crow, administrator of the State Contractors Licensing Board in Little Rock, said there were 428 violations in the state of Arkansas during fiscal year 2007.

The violations were worth more than $46 million.

It is illegal for contractors from any state to work in Arkansas on jobs worth more than $20,000 without a license from the contractors licensing board.

In December 2006 there were 9,958 contractors licensed in the state with 6,391 of those being commercial contractors. In December 2007 that number decreased to 9,917 while the number of commercial contractors registered at that time increased to 7,053.
