Forty Under 40: Tim Lee
Tim Lee’s Internet innovations have changed the way buyers search for homes. Lee’s Web site technology helps more than 15,000 users search more than 600,000 pages of content each day.
He started Revolution Technologies in 1993, when only 130 Web sites appeared on the Internet. In 2001, Lee designed Aladdin Realtors’ company Web site. The site was linked to the area’s Multiple Listing Service and showed not only the company’s listings, but the listings of other Realtors in the area. The technology was termed IDX MLS, or Broker Reciprocity, and it quickly gained popularity among brokers across the state and country.
Lee, 34, said one of his career milestones was creating the IDX technology and the real estate division at his company.
Lee has continued to create new Web site technologies and has stayed at the forefront of the real estate industry. His biggest challenge now is having the resources to develop all of his ideas.
In the next three to five years, he hopes to expand his business into six new markets and grow his client list to more than 5,000 Realtors. Lee said he is always excited to see his technology help improve his clients’ business.
“To see customers become successful because of what came from my company is more inspiring to me than a big paycheck,” Lee said.
