Forty Under 40: Jeromy Adam Arrington
The trucking business isn’t anything new to Adam Arrington, 34. He grew up in the industry with his family-owned trucking firm.
“It’s something I’ve always done,” Arrington said. “I love the business and the customers and the people I work with. In this industry, you deal with such a diverse customer base, and that’s what makes it so challenging and so exciting.”
Arrington — a native of Magnolia — worked for a South African trucking firm at its location in Texarkana and transferred to Northwest Arkansas in July 2005. In 2007, the business was bought out and became Truck Centers of America.
Before that, Arrington was chosen by his colleagues to attend a leadership development course that included two weeks of classes in South Africa and one week in Madrid.
Arrington called the program a “mini MBA,” and it gave him an opportunity to broaden his sense of what international business really is and how to make the most of global commerce.
One of his major goals is to become a part owner in a trucking dealership network.
Arrington is internally driven, largely because of his experiences growing up. Another big motivator is his family. He said his daughters and his wife of 13 years have been nothing but supportive of him and his career to help him be successful.
