The Barber Group’s Bellafont project in Fayetteville has some new lifeblood ready for infusion.

Flake & Kelley Commercial signed a deal on Dec. 18 with Brandon Barber, CEO, to be the exclusive leasing agent on the project.

That may mean some potential and current lease-holders who’ve been scared off by the lack of construction activity – and liens and related lawsuits – on Joyce Boulevard will feel reassured.

“It’s going to put a lot of life into things and be good for Brandon,” said Matthew Dearnley, managing partner with Flake & Kelley.

You may remember that Flake & Kelly was hired as the leasing agent for Dixie Development’s Nelson’s Crossing and Commerce Park II in August. The company breathed some new life into Nelson’s project – leasing 14,600 SF since, and near to closing another 4,900, though it’s not been able to lease any of the new Commerce building. The company also handles the commercial leasing for Barber’s Legacy Building in Fayetteville.

Dearnley said the agreement means the 21,185 SF in the three unfinished buildings at Bellafont will be under construction again (at least minimal construction) sometime soon.

“That is absolutely imminent,” he said.

Flake & Kelly has a stellar reputation and a solid track record. Its move to cast its lot in with the stop-again, start-again Bellafont may signal a significant change for the property. We hope so.
