Gerdau Ameristeel Buys Enco

We have learned that Enco Material Inc. in Springdale is getting a new owner and a new name.
On Oct. 1, Florida-based Gerdau Ameristeel announced the buy-out of Enco Materials, which is based in Nashville, Tenn., and has offices in Little Rock and Springdale.
A Gerdau spokesman said the details of the buy-out had not been solidified, but that all current Enco Materials employees would retain their positions with the company.
Enco is one of Northwest Arkansas’s largest concrete material suppliers and had recently found their market niche in rebarb and forming supplies.
The company employs 18 at the Springdale office.
