Barber Pulling Fat From Bellafont Fire

Johnson Mechanical Contractors Inc. of Fayetteville filed two liens on the Legacy Building totaling $398,042 on Sept. 5, the last day possible according to company owner Stan Johnson.

Johnson said his company is still working for Barber at the Bellafont on Joyce Boulevard and there are “no hard feelings” against CEO Brandon Barber.

“He’s trying to pull the fat out of the fire,” Johnson told us.

The fat appears to be coming out of the fire at the Bellafont.

Barber partnered with Precept Builders Inc. of Dallas and another local investor to get the Bellafont going after months of inactivity. On Sept. 21, Precept purchased three building permits totaling $4.2 million for the 53,000-SF retail center portion of the project.

Titles at the Legacy cannot transfer without the liens being cleared up, and Barber tells us settlements will be reached with all his subcontractors soon.

Another partnership at the Legacy is a possibility and could help that happen.
