East Meets West Spa Goes Legacy

When it comes to East Meets West Spa & Salon, No. 2 comes before No. 1.

On Sept. 14, EMW No. 2 will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Legacy Building in downtown Fayetteville inside the 2,800-SF unit 702 and will officially open for business on Sept. 17.

The flagship EMW on Stearns Street at the Bellafont development in Fayetteville plans to be the largest spa/salon in the state at 7,300-SF, but its original May 15 opening has been pushed back to November.

Both the Bellafont and Legacy developments are owned and operated by The Barber Group, which has resurrected the Bellafont after months with no progress at the ambitious mixed-use project.

Interior walls are up at the EMW No. 1 location and construction is progressing to the point where a firm timeline can be established and weather won’t be able to slow the finish out.

EMW No. 2 will offer special services to residents of the Legacy but will be open to the public and be available for private parties.

The EMW No. 2 is not a temporary fix to the delays at the Bellafont and it will lease the unit from The Barber Group in a long-term agreement we hear is “favorable to both sides.”

According to Fayetteville property records, the two-story unit 702 at the Legacy appraised for $833,700 in 2007.
